The traditional information flow model proceeds directly from RNA to Protein. The synthesis of vital oligosaccharides
and glycoconjugates, however, involves a less direct and more complex flow of information. Genetic information
is expressed as enzymes which interact in a non-linear manner with carbohydrate, protein, and lipid building
blocks to construct biologyical molecules.
