Native Structure (conformation I) of b4Gal-T1.
The structure of b4Gal-T1, crystallized in the presence of Mn2+, soaked
with UDP-Galactose. No metal ion was detected, only UDP was found to be bound.

The flexible region, highlighted red, is in open conformation (conformation I), and
undergoes conformational changes.
